Yesterday, the people of Wisconsin stood up for the future we deserve. State Senators Bob Wirch and Jim Holperin were reelected with huge margins. Working people rejected Scott Walker’s divisive anti-worker agenda. Today we can celebrate another win.
The message from the Wisconsin recall fight Republicans picked in February is loud and clear: Attacking the interests of middle class working families and the politicians who defend them carries a hefty political price, and the voices of workers will not be silenced.
The union members, community organizations, local activists and volunteers who make up We Are Wisconsin played a huge role in these wins.
We are rebuilding the progressive infrastructure in this state. We stood up and fought back, and we will continue to fight for the Wisconsin values we all believe in.
As these recalls come to a close, please take a moment to thank the leaders who stepped and ran for office.
