For Equal Work
In 2012 Scott Walker repealed the Equal Pay Protection Act, a law put in place in order to prevent businesses from paying women and minorities less.
The law gave women and minorities a path to press charges and earn the wages they deserve.
As of 2012, women in the United States made 77 cents for every dollar men made, while in Wisconsin it’s 75 cents on the dollar.
Over a lifetime, women in Wisconsin make $300,000 less than men for doing the same work.
